Bordighera “Town of Palms” Originally a small fishermen and farmers village, it was founded at the end of the fifteenth century with its two cores : the oldest “il Paese Alto” (the old town) and the newer one “la Marina” (the sea front), both to be found in the area called “ Burdighetta” on the Sant’Ampelio cape. The village goes through a substantial transformation towards the end of the nineteenth century, becoming an appreciated “ville de saison”. The development takes place on the hills ( villas and large hotels ) and on the land close to the railway ( residences, buildings to rent and services ).

The hundreds of English present, were responsible in giving a true British spirit to the town with the foundation of the tennis club (the first in Italy) and specific meeting places for cultural activities. Thanks to its privileged climate with warm winters and fresh summers, it has a rare and flourishing vegetation. Located in a strategic position only a few kilometres from Sanremo, Monaco - Montecarlo, and the Côte d’ Azur it allows its guests to follow and participate in different kinds of attractions such as the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival, the Italian Song Festival in Sanremo and so on. It is also possible to take part in excursions to its magnificent hinterland from Dolceacqua to Apricale, from Pigna to Perinaldo, from Seborga to San Romolo.

For sport lovers, tennis and golf are available, as well as fitness centres, swimming-school, scuba-diving and windsurfing. There are also delightful routes for cycling and hiking lovers. The Hotel also proposes trips to the wonderful hinterland and to the Côte d'Azur.
